It was lights out, and away they went as HallCraft lined up alongside 1TEC Auto Hub at Silverstone for a race to the future.
The West Midlands’ leading independent garage has been selected to join a ‘select group’ of independent garages, all chosen to help shape the future of the UK automotive service and repairs business through 1TEC Auto Hub.
HallCraft has been recognised for its five-star servicing, accident repair and vehicle maintenance work in Cradley Heath, supporting private individuals and business fleets from one-man bands to multi-national organisations.
“1TEC Auto Hub is an exciting innovation and it’s an honour to have been chosen to join them as they look to shape the future of our industry,” explained Director James HallCraft.
“Last week, we were invited to join them at Silverstone for an interesting day looking into the future of our industry and considering ways we can improve and grow.
“The day was packed with industry insights presented by keynote speakers, experts on subjects such as manufacturer registration numbers and trends on petrol, and diesel vs hybrid & EVs, for example.
“There was an update on the Government’s EV mandate, and how that’s going to look as we lead up to 2035.
“We also heard from leading experts on training, fleet provision and parts supply.
“It’s an opportunity for us to consider how HallCraft should make decisions that will benefit our customers, the motorists in the West Midlands.”
1TEC Auto Hub was formed to bring together leading garages across the UK committed to offering the highest level of customer service and professionalism from trained technicians.
They invited 350 garages across the UK and Ireland, which all work on the latest generation of vehicles, to join the hub. The concept is to ensure a quality of service to all car owners regardless of the vehicle they drive or the place they live.
Members of the 1TEC Auto Hub are all 100% locally owned garages that provide customers with high-quality local service. The hub provides nationwide strength and support of a rapidly growing group of garages, supported by leaders in the automotive industry.
“It was a fantastic day, and what a venue Silverstone is for the annual conference hosted by the TV personality Mark Durden-Smith.
“After an interesting day of fact-finding, the evening continued with presentations and a Gala dinner, hosted in the incredible trackside setting of the pit lane and garages. That’s right, the very pit lane and garages used by racing teams, including the all-time greats of Formula 1.
“I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you I had a moment, imagining myself flying into the pits leading the British Grand Prix! To be fair, I’d probably be better working the garage element than the driving!
“It was a great day and we are very proud to be part of 1Tec Auto Hub as we look to play a role in shaping the future of British motoring, whilst learning a lot ourselves along the way.”
1TEC Auto Hub is the next generation of workshop concept designed to help independent garages grow.
It was developed with key automotive partners to support independent workshops with all the tools, training, and business support they need to grow, today, tomorrow and in the future – no matter what’s next on the automotive horizon.
Cradley Heath-based garage HallCraft have continued to invest in new tooling and the latest technology, ensuring staff are continually trained and pushed to reach their potential.
They have specialist technicians trained to service Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes, Audi, Ford, Volkswagen, Mini and many more manufacturers.
With data from last year’s 1TEC conference, James was able to make informed decisions to double HallCrafts’ capability of working on light commercial vehicles.
With the addition of a new 5 tonne LCV lift and technicians specialising in working on Ford Transit vans, HallCraft can carry out everything from routine servicing, diagnostics, brakes & timing belt replacements.
After this year’s conference, James has come away again with plenty of useful ideas……thank you 1TEC……watch this space.
