HallCraft lead the way for electric vehicle repair in Cradley Heath.
The regions leading independent garage now boasts two technicians with the UK’s most advanced qualifications for electric and hybrid vehicles.
HallCraft’s Jamie Brett and Dale Felkin have both secured their Level 4 Master Technicians – the highest possible accolade for electric vehicle technicians.
And the qualification places them in the top 6.5% of the UK’s automotive aftermarket workforce now qualified to work on electric vehicles.
HallCraft Managing Director James Hopcraft, said: “We are delighted for Jamie and Dale, they’ve worked really hard for this and it’s right their efforts should be rewarded.
“Electric vehicles are the future and as they become more affordable they are becoming more common place and that means more demand from our customers.
“We have always been proud to seek new knowledge and invest in latest techniques and technology and our technicians are always seeking to push themselves.
“Jamie and Dale had previously secured their levels 1, 2 & 3 and wanted to push themselves further and Level 4 is the highest accolade.
“They impressed during an intensive week long training course completing practical assessments, oral and written assessments and passed with flying colours.”
The qualification has been developed by IMI in conjunction with electric vehicle manufacturers, the health and safety executive, training providers and the IMI Sector Skills Council.
It is the first to address live electric vehicle (high voltage) technology and is designed to keep people safe, whether working with or driving electric vehicles.
